The Arab Economic Unity Council signs an agreement with Cairo University to develop a common “Arab Vision for the Digital Economy”, with the contribution from international and Arab institutions and organizations as well as practitioner experts from around the world. The vision is supported by the United Arab Emirates.
The agreement was signed between HE Ambassador Mohammed Alrabea Secretary General of the Arab Economic Unity Council at the League of the Arab States and Dr. Mohamed Al-Khasht President of the University of Cairo. The ceremony was held at the Grand Celebration Hall that had witnessed and hosted many historical events in a sentiment reflecting the importance of the vision. The signing ceremony was attended by a number of ministers and officials from the Arab countries.
“This agreement is governed and managed by the Arab Federation for Digital Economy and is a realization and a launch pad for many initiatives and projects that will promote economic stability in the Arab world, joint Arab actions and the well-being of Arab citizens”, said HE Ambassador Alrabea.
HE stressed that this project is one of the most recommendations that resulted from the Digital Economy conference recently held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and aims at developing the digital economy in the Arab World.
